It ain't easy being green. Especially in the printing business. Currently, hundreds of millions of trees in North America are cut down annually just to supply fiber for writing and printing papers. This deforestation alone is detrimental to the woodlands, air quality and water reserves, not to mention how it's affecting the way we live.

| The printing process can be resource intensive, but there are many "GREEN PRACTICES " we can incorporate in our daily work routines to help diminish the amount of waste we generate. Here are some methods we are currently using: |

Recycling Programs.
From paper to ink to money and everything in between, recycling saves. Period. It also reduces air pollution and waste to landfills. And that's a good thing. |

Controlling Waste.
Being a control freak has its advantages. By establishing inventory controls, we reduce waste and save cash. Sequencing print jobs by ink color saves ink changes and labor while eliminating waste. |

Using Resources Wisely.
Incorporating recycled papers -- with high levels of post-consumer content -- into your communications projects helps keep a lot of paper out of landfills. Using paper from responsibly or scientifically managed forests goes even further in reducing the damage to our world's natural resources. |

Choosing "Smart" Inks.
Using vegetable or soy-based inks means less toxins and VOCs (volatile organic compounds) are released into the air and soil. Avoiding inks containing heavy metals, like lead, cadmium and mercury, is also better for the environment. |

Educating Consumers.
By helping you understand the nature of "green" printing, you're really helping us produce a "greener" product for you.

In addition to green printing processes, we are also dedicated to adopting environmentally-friendly business practices. Here are just a few things we can all do to help make our Earth a better place to live. |

Start a recycling program at your home or business. |

Reuse one-sided office forms or documents as scratch paper. |

Turn off the lights, computers and other equipment when not in use. |

Use ceramic cups and silverware instead of foam or plastic. |

Reuse boxes two or three times before you send them off for recycling.
