Setting Up Job Options in Acrobat Distiller 5.0
for Creating & Sending High Resolution Printing Files
In order for us to receive your Adobe Acrobat files in the correct format certain job
options need to be set in Acrobat Distiller. This instruction booklet will guide you
through the necessary steps to create the correct Job Options settings.
Adobe Acrobat Distiller determines how to create a PDF file by consulting a preferences
file called a Job Options file. These files can be created and modified to perform
various grades of PDF files depending on wether they will be used for viewing only or
high resolution printing.
Adobe Acrobat Distiller is installed with a default job option setting of ‘e-books’
this job option will not provide all the necessary materials that we as a printer need
for printing high resolution images and accurate font representation.
To set up the correct Job Options perform the following tasks:
First start Acrobat Distiller:
Then Choose the Settings Drop Down Menu
From the Settings drop down menu choose ‘Job Options’:
Next in the Job Options box choose the Color Tab:
Under the Color Management Policies,
Change the setting to ‘Leave Color Unchanged’
Click the Save As Button
Give the new Job Option a name
such as ‘Send files to Allegra’ and click
‘Save’:
Then click the ‘OK‘ button:
Choose the new Job Option in the Job Option window:
Then click ‘Exit’ from the File drop down menu to close Distiller
This Job Option will create the proper PDF file to send to Allegra
for High Resolution output.
