How to Save a File In Photoshop for High Resolution Output
Once you have completed creating your graphic file in Photoshop you are ready to save
it in a format that will allow a Printer to produce a high resolution image from it.
The prefered format is to save it as either a grayscale tif (For single color work) or
a CMYK tif (For full color work)
Step 1 Save your file in PSD (Photoshop native format) Then go to ‘Image/Mode/Grayscale
(for B&W) or (CMYK Color) for Full color’:
After converting the file color to either Grayscale or CMYK, you will then want to save
the file as a tif. To do this go to the file drop down menu and select ‘save as’:
In the ‘Save As’ Dialogue box select TIFF from the ‘Format’ drop down menu, name your file and then click the ‘Save’ button:
Click ‘OK’ in the TIFF Options Box:
Your file will now be saved as either a grayscale tif or CMYK tif (depending on your
choice made earlier).
